Srinagar,  April 1  At least 20 persons , including 13 militants, were killed in three different encounters in South Kashmir ‘ Shopian and Anantnag districts  on Sunday .

Director General of Police  S P Vaid told J K News Today that  13 militants, eight of them  locals were killed in these encounters. Four are yet to be identified.

Four militants and three Indian army soldiers were killed in Kachipora area of Shopian.  These militants are yet to be identified .

This is the largest casualty on a single day in Kashmir this year .

The reports suggested that the security forces were preparing  for  more such encounters to stem the  militancy, especially which was getting  a fillip with the local recruitment .

Meanwhile, the government has ordered all schools and colleges  shut in Kashmir as the tensions have risen all over the Valley. Kashmir university already has suspended  class work for tomorrow . Now it I it has postponed all exams scheduled for tomorrow .
