No attempt to trace  killers till date

Srinagar, March 22:

Fifteen years have passed since Nadimarg Massacre, in which 24 Kashmiri Pandits were killed by  terrorists  but there has been no attempt by the State police to trace the killers .

The terrorists took life of 24 innocent Kashmiri Pandits which included 11 men 11 women and 02 children. The victims ranged from a 75-year-old woman to a 2-year-old boy. The massacre on March 23,  2003  coincided with Pakistan’s  National Day .

Though all the six major massacres which took place in the year 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2003 at Sangrampora (Budgam), Wandhama (Ganderbal), Tailwani (Anantnag), Pethbugh (Anantnag), Hugam (Anantnag) and Nadimarg (Shopian) respectively witnessed the killing of 66 innocent Kashmiri Pandit. Apart from target killings, all the six massacres happened when the left out Community chose to stay back in Kashmir Valley even after the mass exodus of the Community in the year 1990. This speak volumes about the fact had not the Kashmiri Pandit Community left Valley in early 1990s, the Community would had reduced to numbers only.

All the culprits who were involved in these crimes against the Kashmiri Pandits are at large and are living a prosperous life and even some are now adjusted in Government Departments.

All the investigations done with respect to the killing of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir were faulty and almost all the investigations are closed for the reasons best know to the Investigating Agencies, alleged Kashmiri Pandit .

KPSS feel that this is one of the biggest trust-deficits between the Kashmiri Pandit Community and Government Agencies / Majority Community that the culprits who are responsible for exodus and killing of Kashmiri Pandit Community in Kashmir are still at large and no one has been booked for these heinous crimes against community.

KPSS urge the all the National and International Forums to press upon the current State Government to issue a white paper on these crimes which took place against this miniscule Community in Kashmir Valley and also constitute the Truth and Fact Finding Commission so that the justice is done to those who got killed during past 27 years because of this armed insurgency and political turmoil in Kashmir Valley.
