Three militants were killed in an encounter wit security forces in Larnoo village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday morning, while six civilians were died in an explosion when live ammunition exploded in the house where the gunfight took place..
After the encounter was over a huge crowd visited the encounter site and walked into the burning house , despite the warning by the security forces not to commit the misadventure as it could be dangerous. Ignoring the warnings, the crowd marched into the house where grenades and other live ammunition exploded killing three persons on the spot, and injuring at least six others. Three of the injured succumbed to their injuries taking the death toll of the civilians to six.
Police have maintained that the crowd first made their task difficult by stoning the forces heavily and making them to leave the spot soon after the militants were neutralised . It did not give them the chance and time to sanitize the area .
