Srinagar, Febraury 02: Three soldiers are feared killed and another four injured after an avalanche hit an army post in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district
The sources told that an army post of 21 Rajput came under an avalanche today at around 4:30 pm at Sona Pandi Gali (SPG) in Machil along the line of control.
Four soldiers went missing after the avalanche, the sources said.
“A search operation was started immediately and all the four soldiers trapped under snow were evacuated,” they said.
However, one died on the spot and two others succumbed while being shifted to 92 base hospital Badamibagh, Srinagar.
Another soldier, identified as Sepoy Bipin is said to be stable and has been hospitalized, the officer said.
He identified the deceased as Havaldar Kamlesh Kumar, Naik Balbeer and Sepoy Rajinder
