All Govt Offices, PSUs, Educational Institutions to remain closed on Aug 17

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 16:

Governor’s Administration has announced 7-Day mourning in Jammu and Kashmir as a mark of respect to Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister who passed away at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi this afternoon.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department here this evening, state mourning shall be observed for 7 days from 16thAugust to 22 August 2018 (both days included).

The national and the state flag shall fly half mast during the state mourning on all the buildings and places where these are flown regularly, it said adding that there shall be no official entertainment during the period of morning.

It said that all government offices, boards, corporations, autonomous bodies and educational institutions shall remain closed on 17th August 2018 in the memory of the departed soul.
