 The Department of Sanskrit today organised Valedictory function on the concluding of  7 days National workshop on Indian scripts  in collaboration with MIEF. Prof. Jigar Mohammad, Dean Research studies  in his presidential address dwelt upon the urgent need of reviving the ancient scripts and retrieving ancient knowledge of India. He said that Scripts and language are beyond any specificity of religion or community. They are a humanexpression and ancient scripts in particular contain seeds of pristine human knowledge that from foundations of Indian culture. He congratulated the department for its active role and contribution in preserving and propagating these scripts.

 Dr. Meenakshi Kilam, Registrar, University of Jammu appreciated the sincerity of the Department  in organizing such outcome based workshops. She further said that she has been associated with it since its inception about three years back and praised at the progress that it has made in achieving its objectives and such collaborative events makes  the University a vibrant centre of learning and research. she expressed hope that the Department of Sanskrit will continue in its tradition of scholarship.

Prof. Shohab Malik, Dean Faculty of Arts, congratulated the Sanskrit Department on the successful completion of the workshop . He assured that as Dean of Arts it will be his endeavour that all the Department in the faculty of Arts reach its full potential and contribute substantially to the march of the University in its fiftieth golden year .  Dr. Suresh Abrol, Director , shashvat Art Gallery  provided updated  data regarding the availability of manuscripts in ancient scripts.Speaking on the occasion  Dr. Somnath Pandita, Advisor M.I.E.F.  assured a continued support of M.I.E.F to the Department of Sanskrit in its endeavour to revive the Sharada Script .

The function concluded with Shantipath and the National Anthem.
