In the peak marriage season, 77 banquet halls without having parking facilities are openly violating all norms and are running without any fear of authorities, whereas IGP Traffic J&K, have written a letter to Deputy Commissioner Jammu to take action.

As the matter is already in Court, official sources informed that 77 banquet halls out of total registered 114 in Jammu district are working without parking facilities and even after notices served to them by the concerned authorities.

These 77 renowned hall are under booking during ongoing marriage season and it is also in the notice of the concerned officials of the departments, but no action has been taken so far.

This report is based on facts and Department of Housing and Urban Department headed by Deputy Chief Minister has officially said that these 77 banquet halls are without parking facilities and a status report of this is already being maintained, but this awaits official action.

“From total 114 banquet halls, 77 are without parking facilities and using the roads in front of them for parking of vehicles during functions, which is one of the major reason of traffic chaos during marriage seasons in Jammu,” said official sources and also added that many times notices have been served to these banquet halls, but maximum of these belongs to the influential persons, so they are continuing with their business without any hurdles.
