Shimla, December 19:

After months of campaigning for state elections, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is on a holiday trip to hill-town Shimla with sister Priyanka and her children. According to reports, Rahul took a road trip from Chandigarh to Shimla, where the family is likely to stay at Wildflower Hall, an Oberoi Group’s luxury resort. He also plans to visit the under-construction house of his sister in Charabra, about 14 km from Shimla.

Priyanka has been a regular visitor to the Shimla with her mother Sonia, but Rahul is visiting the place for the first time.

While on their way to Shimla, the Gandhi family made a stop at “Taran Taran” dhaba in Solan near Mohan Meakin brewery, one of the first breweries in India set up by Edward Dyer in 1855. They took snacks, tea and Maggi noodles there.

When news of Rahul Gandhi visiting the town spread, some locals gathered near the dhaba to catch a glimpse of the Congress president. Locals clicked some selfies with Rahul Gandhi.

The family visit comes days after the Congress victories in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
