Jammu, November 12:

At about 05.15PM today, Pakistan Army resorted to an unprovoked ceasefire violation in Krishna Ghati Sector (Mendhar) on the line of control (LoC) resulting in one soldier getting martyred and another critically injured.

In the incident, Lance Naik Antony Sebastian KM was critically injured and succumbed to gunshot wound injuries to fire from across the border. Havildar Mari Muthu D also sustained gunshot wounds and was critically injured in the firing. Immediate resuscitation and medical aid was provided to the soldier and has been evacuated to Military Hospital, Poonch.

Lance Naik Antony Sebastian KM, aged 34 years, belonged to Village-Manakunnam, Post-Udaymperoor, Tehsil- Kannayanur, District-Ernakullam, Kerala and is survived by his wife, Mrs Anna Dayana Joseph.

Lance Naik Antony Sebastian KM was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for the supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.

Indian Army has retaliated strongly and effectively on Pakistan Army posts. The martyrdom of the Indian Army Soldier will not go in vain.
