Jammu, October 24:

A chopper of the Indian army  with its top army commander of the Northern Command Lt. Gen. Ranbir Singh  and few other officers crash landed in Mandi area of Poonch district on Thursday .

All officers, included General officer Commanding of 16 Corps  Lt. Gen. Paramjit Singh and other senior army officers , were  reported to be safe . They were evacuated safely , but  some of them have  received injuries.

The area where the chopper made an emergency landing  was close to the formations  of the Indian army. The swift rescue operation helped the officers to evacuate safely.

The army commander  was to visit the area to study the situation arising out of repeated ceasefire violations by the Pakistan army  in the recent weeks
