Army conducts inter village volleyball competition

To boost and revive sports activities and promote sports amongst youth in the areas of Reasi District, a Volleyball Tournament at Makhidhar was conducted by the Indian Army. The event was part of the Army’s efforts to promote positive youth development through sports and provide a platform to showcase their talent.

A total of four teams from Nambal, Tulli, Mora Mol and Banna villages from Makkidhar and adjoining area participated in the tournament on league cum knock-out basis. Banna team was eventually adjudged the champion team after beating Nambal team in a competitive and keenly contested match. The event witnessed an over whelming response both in terms of participation and spectators. Over 130 youth and locals turned up to witness the tournament.

All the participating team members displayed excellent sportsman spirit during the conduct of the tournament. The Sarpanches and elders of the villages expressed their gratitude towards the Army in its endeavours to motivate the youth of the region and bring in bonhomie.
