Udhampur, January 18:

To address the medical problems of populace in far flung and remote areas of the region, a Medical Camp was conducted by Indian Army at Upper Samote village of Rajouri district.

The local population has to travel for long distances through difficult terrain to get basic medical facilities. More than 55 patients, including men, women and children were provided medical treatment and check up, by the medical staff. Medicines were also distributed to the patients. The medical staff also provided counseling on hygiene and sanitation, importance of safe drinking water and modern day health lifestyle related diseases. The medical camp was well received by the local populace.

Speaking on the occasion on behalf of the locals, Sarpanch of the village expressed his gratitude and appreciation towards the Army for its pledge towards addressing the medical problems of the locals. He said that the Army has always worked towards bringing good health and happiness to the needy village folk and the region as a whole.
