Udhampur, December 20: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga initiated upgradation of Army Women Empowerment Node today with an aim to empower and impart skill to the local women of Mahore Tehsil.

The upgradation focuses on procuring equipments and raw materials for imparting quality training in tailoring, stitching and embroidery. Over 20 local women from adjoining areas are attending the development program and acquiring the skills to earn their livelihood.

Army Women Empowerment Node, Mahore which has recently been renovated by Bagga based Rashtriya Rifles is striving to empower the local women of Mahore by way of equipping them with requisite skills, there by giving them confidence to stand on their feet and contribute towards their development.

Army impressed the trainees to make optimum use of the training and to use it as a stepping stone to achieve desired goals in life. Miss Rubina Akhtar, Chief Coordinator and the instructor at the Node, appreciated Army’s efforts in renovating the node and organising such training courses.
