True to the Army’s slogan ‘We Share We Care’, Indian Army distributed winter clothing and books to the deprived and needy people of Rajouri District on 23 December 18.
The Army in conjunction with the NGO Goonj organised the distribution of books and winter clothing to the needy people and under privileged children of remote areas of Draj, Bal Ashram Budhal, Luni Darman, Samote, Phalni, Kotranka, Dana and Upper Samote. Items like Jackets, Mattress, Quilts, Socks, Toys, Shoes, Shirts, Scarfs, Trousers and Ladies Kurtis etc were distributed. A total of 150 students and locals were benefited through this drive.
Speaking on the occasion, the Sarpanch of village Samote expressed his gratitude towards the Army for helping the needy and destitute families and conducting programmes for social upliftment. The locals were visibly overwhelmed by this noble gesture of the Army.
