Celebrating year 2018 as the ‘Year of the Disabled Soldier’, a felicitation ceremony for veterans who suffered from various disabilities was organised today at Udhampur Military Station. On this occasion wheel chairs and hearing aids were presented to 15 veterans.
The Station Commander, Udhampur Military Station, presided over the function and applauded the brave veterans saying that they are the role models for present and future generations of soldiers of Indian Army. The Station Commander assured to take all steps to assist and help the veterans. He also apprised the gathering that the focus during this Year of Disabled Soldier will be on helping the disabled veterans in attaining skills for alternate employment, conducting job counseling by professional experts from the industry and assisting them in placement in public / private sector.
