With a view to empower and impart skill to the local women of the remote villages in Rajouri district, the Indian Army has established Women Empowerment Node at Hubi. The Node will impart training to local women and thereafter provide means for self employment as part of Women Empowerment initiative by Indian Army.

The node is presently conducting a tailoring course for women from 10 Jan 2019 onwards. As part of the establishment, Sewing Machines, clothes and other basic items for tailoring which will facilitate in training of the local women are being provided. In all, 20 women from adjoining areas are undergoing training at this Node and acquiring requisite skill for earning a decent livelihood. The Women Empowerment Node has proved to be a path-breaker and a stepping stone towards achieving the goal of self reliance of women folk of the far-flung and remote regions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sarpanch of the Hubi village said that the various initiatives by the Army, especially for the women, will assist in the all-round socio economic development of the region. The women have appreciated the Army’s effort in setting up of the Node and imparting vocational skill training, thereby in the true sense empowering them by making them self reliant. The visionary project of the Army will significantly contributed towards the overall national aim of Women Empowerment and financial upliftment of these remote regions of the country.
