Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of Small arms, automatics & mortars from 1645 hours in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control (LC). Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively.
However, in the exchange of fire, Naik Thorat Kiran Popatrao was grievously injured and succumbed to his injuries.
Naik Thorat Kiran Popatrao, aged 31 years, belonged to Village Fakirabad Wadi, Post office Ladgaon, Waijapur Tehsil, District Aurangabad, Maharashtra and is survived by his wife, Shrimati Aarti.
Naik Thorat Kiran Popatrao was a brave and sincere soldier. The nation will always remain indebted to him for his supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty.
