The Army organised a Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan at Wakherwan village in Pulwama wherein a rally was organised from the village Masjid to the Primary School in which people from all age groups participated with enthusiasm and cleaned the village. A pledge to keep the village and surroundings clean was also taken by all villagers. A lecture on living a clean way of life by improving hygiene and sanitation was organised by the local school teacher. A street play was also staged by the kids to raise awareness about the issue. Cleaning items like dustbins, brooms, mops and gloves were distributed. In the end a healthy interaction with the people was carried out where the locals appreciated the efforts put in by the Army.
