Crime Branch Kashmir has registered a case against a fraudster for availing loan facility from JK Bank by producing fake documents.

                According the official statement, Crime Branch Kashmir received a communication from Branch Head J&K Bank Branch Zainkote, Srinagar which inter-alia reveals that J&K Bank business unit Zainkote sanctioned a term Loan facility of Rs 30 lakhs in favour of  Sheikh Sami-ullah S/O Mohammad Abdullah Sheikh R/O Arampora, Nawakadal, Srinagar, for purchase of a residential house along with piece of land situated at Zainakote, Srinagar. In support of his loan case the said person provided revenue extracts of the land duly issued by concerned Patwari and attested by Tehsildar Territorial Srinagar. Subsequently, the Bank authorities sanctioned loan of Rs 30 Lakh in his favour. The sale deed executed in this regard was kept mortgage against the said loan. The communication further reveals that the said person also availed another cash credit loan facility of Rs. 30 lakhs from J&K Bank Business Unit Residency Road Srinagar against the security of land measuring 03 kanals and 09 marlas falling under Khasra No. 2302/1591/630.

            The said accused (Borrower) turned defaulter and failed to repay both the loans sanctioned in his favour as per agreed terms and conditions as a consequence of which the loan accounts with concerned Bank Branches was classified as “Non-Performing Asset”(NPA).  The relevant documents were sent to Tehsildar Territorial Srinagar for verification and the report sought from the concerned Tehsildar, which reveals that the revenue extracts as well as the mortgage deeds produced by the said borrower are fake and forged.

            The afore said act of omission and commission on the part of the alleged accused  Sheikh Samiullah S/O  Mohammed Abdullah R/O Arampora Nawakadal Srinagar in connivance with Bank officials, prima-facie disclose  the commission of offences punishable U/S 420,467,468,471,   RPC.
