Rt. Rev. Ivan Pereira, the head of the Catholic Community of Jammu and Kasmir expressed immense grief and extended heartfelt condolences on the sad demise of the veteran leader and former Deputy CM, Mangat Ram Sharma.
In his condolence message Bishop Pereira noted that Sharma was an eloquent leader who stood for the protection of all sections of the people particularly the minorities. He recalled the services of the eminent leader for the welfare of the state in various capacities particularly as the member of the State Legislature on six occasions and as the Deputy Chief Minister as well as the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly.
The loss of this political stalwart of the state is being deeply mourned by the Catholic Church while it is extending prayers for the repose of his soul as well as for the strength for all grieving members of the family to cope with the tragic loss.
