Samba Brigade part of Gurj Division organized a joint Civil-Military interaction and cooperation meeting in the border village Raiyan of Samba District, today.

According to the Defence Spokesman, Lt.Col. Manish Mehta , “The interaction envisaged to acquaint the locals of border villages of Samba on Civil – Military cooperation in border security and also to make them aware of various safety measures during cross – border firing”.

Col. Mehta told that the event was chaired by the Commander of Samba Brigade along with Commanding Officer of a local unit, the Sarpanches, Nambardars and village defence committee (VDC) members of border villages of Samba District.

“The event provided the much need launch pad to project the problems being faced by the people of border areas. The means to strengthen solidarity and deepen cooperation regarding speedy flow of information between civil and military specially in the border villages were also discussed,” said the spokesman

Addressing the gathering, Commander Samba Brigade applauded the locals for displaying towering courage and spoke highly of them for offering tremendous support to Army in the area.
