Srinagar, October 6  ( JKNT) A civilian Muhammad Shafi was killed in Arrang Kel village of Neelum Valley  last night in Pakistani firing from across the Line of Control  ( LoC) , according to reports reaching here.

Pakistani troops had opened unprovoked fire , violating the ceasefire, targeting the Indian civilian population.

One of the shells hit the house of Mohammad Shafi, who is reported to be a lecturer in a local college . He died on the spot.

Pakistani troops have been resorting to the firing from across the LoC for the past four days , which is believed to be in response to the Indian surgical strikes on September 29th that left much of the terror infrastructure at the terrorist launch pads  destroyed.

Pakistan army has denied that Indian  army conducted any strikes. Instead, it blamed the killing of  two of its soldiers  in the cross border firing by Indian troops that was replied befittingly (JKNT)
