One CRPF jawan has been killed in an ongoing gun fight with militants near CRPF camp in Karan Nagar area in Srinagar on Monday , the latest reports from the encounter side suggested.
The encounter had started Monday morning when the militants who had earlier tried to storm the CRPF camp early morning were made to flee by the timely fire by the CRPF guards , took refuge in an abandoned building in the vicinity.
The CRPF jawans started looking for them and were fired upon when they approached the building where militants had taken positions . The militants fired indiscriminately and they had the advantage of having a better view of the surrounding CRPF jawans. One of the jawans has been killed.
