Director General of BSF, KK Sharma today said that situation at International Border and Line of Control with Pakistan is very tense and high-alert has been maintained.
Talking to media persons at BSF Frontier Head Quarters Paloura in Jammu after Wreath Laying ceremony of the martyr BSF head constable A Suresh, DG BSF said that that the border force is retaliating Pakistan’s firing strongly and there is heavy loss of lives and property on the other side of border too.
“I assured that we are taking strong action and the martyrdom of our soldier A Suresh will not go waste,” said BSF chief and added that situation is tense at IB and Pakistani Rangers provoking us with continuous ceasefire violations. Earlier on January 3, a BSF soldier attained martyrdom in Pakistan sniping incident at Samba sector and now on Wednesday evening, Pakistan once again violated ceasefire and targeted Indian forward post and villages.
Sharma also said that there is the strong message to the commanders in the field to react each bullet of the enemy strongly.
When asked about the terror movement on the other side of the IB, the DG BSF agreed that movement of terrorists have been observed on the other side and Pak may attempt to push infiltrators inside Indian territory to disturb peace on the occasion of Republic Day.
Meanwhile, sources informed that five Pakistani civilians killed and eight others injured at two locations in Indian retaliation since last night.
