Centre’s special representative Dineshwar Sharma  is more  optimistic this time as he  prepares to leave Delhi for Srinagar on  Tuesday to hold his fresh round of talks in Kashmir, hoping that the things  are better placed this time .

Sharma’s this visit comes against the backdrop of Ashraf Sehrai assuming the charge of the  chairman of Tehreek-e-Hurryiat  succeeding  its founder chief Syed Ali Shah Geelani. The  T-e-H is  an important constituent of the Geelani faction of the  Hurriyat  Conference .

Geelani is feeling  the heat  after Sehrai’s son  Junaid Ahmad Khan joined Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen , because this has  placed Sehrai in the frontline of the spotlight among the separatists . The separatists are seeking to neutralize the  shift in the secessionist politics by planning to spotlight other issues like prisoners’ “ plight” in  Jammu and Kashmir  and the arrest of the separatist leaders.

Sharma , it is learnt , would make yet another attempt to reach out to the separatists and  Geelani may not be the only  choice  in his scheme of things.
