Jammu, May 12:

Based on reliable inputs, a joint operation was launched by Army and Rajouri Police on 12 May 2018 leading to the apprehension of four suspected Hizb-ul-Mujahidin OGWs.

On receiving the input, a trap was laid on NH-144A near Kallar area of Rajouri district during which four persons travelling in a private car were apprehended. Cash worth Rs One lakh in Indian currency was also recovered from the apprehended persons. Further investigation in the case is being undertaken by a joint team of Army and Police at Rajouri.

Out of the four apprehended persons, three have been identified as residents of Shopian and the other person hails from Rajouri. The apprehendees include one surrendered militant, identified as Ajaz Ahmed s/o Ghulam Ali r/o of Butpora, Shopian who had surrendered in 2005 and was detained under PSA till 2007.

Army will continue with its persistent operations to keep Rajouri district safe and free from terrorists as well as their support infrastructure.
