Jammu, December 24:

The four week long Orientation course organized by the Human Resource development centre in collaboration with Department of Urdu, University of Jammu was today inaugurated by Prof. Keshav Sharma, Dean Academic Affairs, University of Jammu in the Prof. Gian Chand Jain seminar hall of the department of Urdu, University of Jammu. Near about 60 college and university teachers within and outside the state are attending the orientation course.

The course coordinator and Dean Faculty of Arts Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik dlivered welcome address and threw light on the aims and objectives of such courses. He particularly highlighted the role of teachers in building the national Integration and communal harmony. He also threw light on the qualities of a good teacher.

While speaking on the occasion  Ranjeet Kalra, Teaching Faculty, HRDC, University of Jammu discussed the aims and objectives of refresher as well as orientation courses. He informed  that prominent experts would be invited during the orientation course who will deliver lecture on various topics and advice the teachers of the orientation course to share the knowledge with the students of the colleges and universities.

In his inaugural address Prof. Keshav Sharma lauded the efforts of the department of Urdu for organizing academic activities frequently. He described Urdu a language of love and brotherhood. He also recited some of the Urdu verses which were highly appreciated by the audience.

Prof. Keshav Sharma asked the participants to be positive for country as well as National Integration. He said that teachers can play a vital role in building up a strong nation and asked the participants to be regular so that they could get benefit from the lectures which would be delivered by different experts of the country as well as of University of Jammu.

After the inaugural session two lectures were delivered to the participants by noted historian of the state Mr. Aseer Kishtwari.
