The dream of Prime Minister Modi for ‘Swachh Bharat’ and ‘Clean Toilets’ seems going down the drain in Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu, as patients and their attendants prefer to go out for toilets, rather than using hospital’s washrooms which are in pathetic condition.
The slogan of ‘Swachh Bharat’ given by Prime Minister Modi on October 2, 2014 was one of the most appreciated slogan of him, but the implementation of the swachh bharat and clean toilts are still a distant dream in country in general and Jammu in particular.
The people of Jammu were expecting much cleanliness in the hospitals, when the portfolio of the Health was given to BJP in the PDP-BJP coalition since the government was formed in March 2015. But the matter of cleanliness in the hospital is seems to be ignored by the hospital administration as well as the health ministers from BJP, who earned votes on the ideology of Narendra Modi.
“We would prefer to go out in open, rather than using hospital’s toilets. There is nothing in the name of cleanliness in the hospital, neither in the wards nor in toilets,” said Mohammad Akbar, an attendant with patient.
The condition in the toilets at GMC Jammu can be seen in the video.
