The secretary Tourism had a meeting with JK Golf association members in Jammu today to discuss and plan future course of action for holding the Golf tournaments in the state to promote the Golf playing culture in the state which will help in nurturing the Golfing potential of the youngsters ,the secretary assured the association members all help to start training classes and courses for the interested youngesters to utilize their unexplored sports potential ,the association proposed to open Golf academies in Jammu and Srinagar for training and producing standard golfers who can compete at national and international level ,the secretary assured the association members that this suggestion will be taken up with the CM .
The secretary while interacting with the delegation said that the Govt is keen to promote the state as the ideal Golfing destination being equipped with international standard golf infrastructure in Srinagar Pahalgam Gulmarg Jammu and soon in Leh as well .
The secretary said that MICE and Golf will be clubbed together as a niche segment to attract high spending golf and conference tourists and delegates from all over the country and outside .
