Governor Satya Pal Malik today participated in the Passing-out and Attestation Parade of 26th BRTC Batch-2019 of the newly recruited constables of the Jammu & Kashmir Police that was held at S. Prithinandan Singh Police Training School (PTS) at Kathua as chief guest.

DGP J&K Dilbag Singh, ADGP HQ. Abdul Gani Mir, ADGP Co-ordination A K Choudhary, Director SSG Surinder Kumar Gupta, Director SKPA Udhampur, SDS Jamwal, IGP Jammu, Mukesh Singh, DIG JKS Range, Vivek Gupta, Principal PTS Kathua, Arun Gupta, SSP Kathua, Shridhar Patil, DC Kathua, OP Bhagat, senior police and civil functionaries were present on the occasion.

Congratulating the passing out cadets, who have successfully completed their training, the Governor urged them to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication after moving out from the PTS. He asked them to remember what they have been taught during their training days by the instructors while performing their duties.

“Whatever you have learnt here at PTS would help you throughout your career and would serve as a solid foundation in life” he said and added that JKP is one of the best professionally managed forces in the country famed for its sacrifices and valour. He asked them to maintain high standards of professionalism and serve the people with a caring spirit. He also congratulated the parents of the trainees on the occasion and stated that they should be proud that their wards are taking the important step of serving the society.

On the occasion, the Governor also felicitated the best performing trainees in various disciplines and took ceremonial salute at the march past. He also inspected the traditional parade by the cadets.

Earlier, DGP, Dilbag Singh welcomed the Governor and complimented trainees, their parents and relatives. He said that the trainees not only underwent training inside the institution, but have also proved themselves while being deployed on law and order duties from time to time. He also welcomed the family members of Jawans who had come to witness their ‘graduation ceremony’ for becoming a part of Police family.

“Jammu Kashmir Police is committed for welfare of people and their families. Focused attention is being given for development of infrastructure at all training centers in the State,” said DGP. He also gave details of various welfare measures undertaken by the Police Force for Jawans and constabulary.

Principal PTS Kathua, SSP Arun Gupta, while giving details of Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade, informed that 1033 Jawans from 21 Districts today completed their training course for recruitment as Constables. He said during their BRTC, they have been imparted training as per laid down procedure. He further stated that out of 1033 Jawans, 124 are post-graduates while 341 are graduates.

On this occasion, Rahul Sharma was declared All-round best performer. He was given out-of-turn promotion to the rank of Selection Grade Constable. Recruit Constable Sushil Kumar was declared 2nd all-round best and Indoor best and he was presented with a cash prize of Rs 17,500. Recruit Constable Narinder Singh was adjudged 3rd all-round best. In Range Classification, recruit constable Sandeep Sharma was adjudged best trainee. They were also presented with cash rewards. Parade Commander Recruit Constable Sahil Kumar and 2nd incharge Parade Commander Bilal Ahmad were also rewarded.
