Guru Harkrishan Public School, Sec. 03 Guru Nanak Nagar, Jammu celebrated its Annual Sports Day in the school ground, here on Wednesday. His Holiness Mahant Manjit Singh Ji was the chief guest. He inaugurated the function and gave blessings to the participating students. Bhupinder Singh Retd. DIG welcomed Mahant Sahib Ji and the esteemed gathering and emphasized the importance of sports in child’s life. He further stated that sports is an important extra – curricular activity, it releases mental tension, improve personality and develop public relationships. He also stated that sports is an important activity and education itself and develops all round development of the body, mind and soul.
The students displayed various sports events such as March past, Pricking of balloons, Frog race, blind race, Musical Chair, Tug of war etc .which mesmerized the gathering with their energetic performances. The chairman of the school gave away prizes to the participating students. Rita Popli, Principal of the school presented vote of thanks and applanded the efforts of the students and teachers for making the event a huge success.
