Jammu, December 16

Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP appealed to all sects of the society including traders, shopkeepers, businessmen, youth, social organizations, students and intellectuals to observe peaceful Jammu Bandh on Dec 17th in protest against coalition govt’s decision to extend ex-gratia to militants families.

Addressing a press conference he that the State government’s policy of appeasement towards the secessionists forces is reaching its peak,. Harsh Dev Singh disclosed that the BJP-PDP government had issued a notification announcing ex-gratia relief in favour of next of the kin of Burhan Wani’s brother Khalid muzaffar Wani, a OWG of Hizbul Mujahideen who was killed by the Army in an encounter in Buchoo forest area of Tral on April 13th last year.

He said that several security and defense personnel attained supreme sacrifice while confronting such attacks and border skirmishes but regretted that the BJP-PDP alliance remained callous in announcing compensation to the families of the martyrs unlike other State governments. He added that the State government had been disparaging its martyrs right from the beginning with no ex-gratia been paid to the Army Jawans besides other defense and security personnel who sacrificed their lives while performing duties for the Motherland. Likewise, several farmers and residents of forward hamlets had lost their loved ones, crops and livestock during the ongoing border skirmishes but they were deplorably denied compensation of any sort by the dispensation.

He said that power intoxicated BJP owed an explanation to the people for its treacherous and dual faced character. Singh once again urged the people to observe complete shutdown on Saturday to oppose, expose and depose the Saffron brigade for bringing disgrace to the nationalist Dogras and for its persistent acts of betrayal, duplicity and subterfuge.
