Jammu,   May 30:

  Union Home  Minister Rajnath Singh will be arriving on a three-day visit of Jammu and Kashmir on  June 7 , during which he will review security situation ahead of Amarnath yatra  and also visit the border areas in Jammu region.

Rajnath Singh will arrive in Srinagar on  June 7  and hold a high-level security review of the situation obtaining in the Valley  following the  halting of the  anti-militancy operations in J&K during the month of Ramzan  and also  make a thorough review of the arrangements in place  for the two-month long Amarnath yatra starting June 28.

Last year militants had targeted the pilgrims and killed eight of them.

The Home Minister will be visiting Jammu on June 8. He will visit some of the border areas and interact with the residents there to assure them that they would be taken care of . He has already announced  the recruitment of the border youth in two newly created battalions.

He will return to Delhi on  June 9.

This  will be his first visit to J&K after the announcement of the ceasefire.
