A big tragedy averted with the timely action of security forces, when a Improvised Explosive Device (IED) fitted pressure cooker was detected at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

Official sources informed that a IED Bomb fitted three liters domestic pressure cooker was detected and later timely defused by Central Reserve Police Force at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Kandizal-Tangpora village just opposite to Railway Station Pampore.

Following Republic Day, the CRPF team was on patrolling, meanwhile they got an information that some suspicious item is dug on the roadside. Swiftly the security forces called bomb disposal squad and they found that a pressure cooker was there filled with IED.

It is worth mentioning that entire Kashmir Valley is on the high alert in view of militant attack threat on 26 th Jan.
