Scintillating performances by the tiny tots marked the celebration of Grand Parents Day at Lord Mahavira Playway School, Shiv Nagar, Jammu.

Zorawar Singh Jamwal, Chairman, Team Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion while Surinder Sharma, Chairman of the School, Madhu Sharma, Principal, Anu Radha Saraf, Vice-Principal and president Nat Manch, Tarn Sharma were present as the Guests of the Honour.

Seema Anand was the activity in-charge during the programme.

The tiny tots mesmerised the gathering with a dance item “Oh My Friend Ganesha” and skit programme titled “Pyare Dada Ji”. The programme started with the traditional lightening of the lamp by Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal, chief guest on the occasion, and Saraswati Bandhana presentation by the students of Ist class.

Addressing the gathering at the Mahavira Playway School, Shiv Nagar, Jammu, Mr Zorawar Singh Jamwal laid stress on the holistic and overall development of children. He said, “It is the age (5-12) when parents as well as school teachers need to inculcate moral values among their wards.” Children respond so quickly to every stimulus at this age. So you need to in-still in your children the moral and social values at this younger age.”

“Otherwise, by the time your wards will grow young, they wouldn’t respect their elders as well as parents the way westernised society do not,” Zorawar Singh Jamwal pointed out and further cited example of how a particular section of the society ignore their grandparents when they (Elderly people) need their children the most. “I hope you have seen the pitiable condition of elderly people at the old age homes. Please don’t make your children ignore their grandparents,” Zorawar Singh Jamwal appealed the gathering.

Principal, Madhu Sharma; Vice-Principal, Anu Radha Saraf highlighted the efforts of the school management and staff in providing quality education to students so as to ensure  their all round moral, intellectual and physical development through an integrated programme of studies and extracurricular activities by adopting the latest technologies and aids.

The grandparents present on the occasion appreciated the efforts of school management for organising such functions.
