Jammu, April 14

Jammu Bar Association as cleared the air that it was asking  CBI  inquiry for the transparent and fair inquiry so that the real guilty could be  brought to justice and rubbished the communal propaganda launched against it .

To reinforce its stand for seeking justice to  Asifa who was allegedly raped and murdered by criminals , the Bar Association will take out a candle march in memory  of Asifa  on Saturday and also to seek justice for her

A handout of Bar Association said that a meeting under the presidentship of Mr. B.S. Slathia, Sr. Advocate & President of J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu was held today on 13-04-2018 along with office bearers of the Association. Various measures were discussed in order to intensify the on-going agitation including interaction with various Civil Society Groups.

Mr. Slathia and other office bearers were of the opinion that the State Government has miserably failed to protect the family of the rape victim in the Rasana rape and murder case. Mr. Slathia urged to the State Government to provide adequate monetary compensation to the family of the victim in order to provide immediate relief and succour. He further demanded that immediate protection should be provided to the life and property of the victim family. It was further resolved in the meeting that the Candle march procession of the members of the J&K High Court Bar Association  would be taken out  from the District Court Complex Janipur Jammu to Ambphala, Jammu on 14-04-2018 (Saturday) at 6 PM in memory of the victim and to pay respectful homage to the departed soul.

It was further reiterated in the meeting that demanding CBI investigation in the Rasana rape & murder case does not tantamount to shielding the real accused but the real intention was to provide justice to the victim by fair and independent probe .  In fact it was pointed out by Mr. Slathia that the Rasana case is only one of the issue of the on-going agitation and the first issue was pertaining to deportation of illegally settled immigrants i.e. Rohingyas who have settled in and around Jammu City with the active connivance of the State Government who have posed a grave threat to the people of Jammu region. It was noted with grave concern that some vested interests are trying to project that the present agitation is proceeding on communal lines and confined only to Rasana rape and murder casewhich is factually incorrect. Mr. Slathia appealed to all the sections of the society and media in particular to kindly consider the on-going agitation in the larger perspective of deportation of Rohingyas and the Minutes of meeting dated 14-02-2018 concerning the Tribal Affairs Department,

Among those who were present in the meeting were S/Sh Sachin Gupta, Vice President, Prem Sadotra, General Secretary, Himanshu Sharma, Joint Secretary. Chetan Misri, Treasures and many others.
