Jammu, Febraury 07: In a big achievement against drug peddling, Jammu Police today achieved successes by recovering 13 kg Heroine from two passengers who were travelling in a bus coming from Srinagar at Nagrota, this afternoon besides 20 Kg Poppy straw was recovered from one drug peddler at Sidhra in Nagrota in Jammu.

SSP Jammu, Vivek Gupta informed that during a surprise Naka established at TCP Nagrota by SDPO Nagrota ,Dy.SP Ops and SHO Nagrota at about 3:45 pm, a bus bearing registration no JK01AC-3136 Kashmir bound which was coming from Srinagar was stopped for checking.

During frisking of passenger Raja Kursheed son of of Titwal Tangdhar Kupwara recovered eight packets contraband in which Heroine like substances from a bag possessed by him and five packets of Heroine like substances from a bag possessed by Mohd Ashraf Khan son of Sher Ali Khan of Kachama Kupwara.

The total contraband Heroine like substance of weighing 13 Kg was recovered from the possession of alleged persons, which was illegally possessed by them. In this connection, a case FIR No. 27/2018 U/S 8/21/NDPS Act was registered and investigation started.

The recovery has been made under the supervision of SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SP Operation, Jammu Vinay Kumar Sharma. The street value of the drug seized is about 65 crore rupees.

In another incident, police party from Nagrota caught a person who was going towards Sidhra on foot under suspicious circumstances and recovered 20 Kg Poppy straw from his possession.

On questioning the alleged person disclosed his name as Akhter Ahmed S/O Wali Mohd R/O Thathri, Tehsil Baksoo District Doda. In this connection Case FIR No. 29/2018 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at P/S Nagrota and investigation started.
