Sarita congratulates Sainik School Nagrota for bringing laurels

SHIMLA, NOVEMBER 30:

J&K Team represented by Sainik School Nagrota bagged third position with Cash Prize of Rs. 5000 in North Zone School Band Competition held at Shimla on Friday.
In this competition, first Prize was bagged by Sainik School Kapurthala, Punjab and second was secured by the Holy Public School, Faridabad Haryana.
Sarita Chauhan, Commissioner/Secretary School Education, congratulated the team of J&K and appreciated the efforts of Samagra Shiksha which provided every possible support to the band. She stressed that such competitions bring out the best out of students which ultimately hones their talents and skills. She further shared that School Education is in the process of establishing district level band for school children.
Dr. Arun Manhas, State Project Director Samagra Shiksha also congratulated the team and their mentors. He lauded the efforts made by team of Sainik School Nagrota and team of Samagra Shiksha for efforts which resulted in success. He also thanked Commissioner Secretary School Education, Sarita Chauhan for providing guidance, support and mentorship during the entire process of school level Band Competition.
The programme was organized by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India through its Flagship programme- Samagra Shiksha and Himachal Pradesh as the coordinating State for the competition.
Five states/UTs- Punjab, Haryana, J&K, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh participated in the competition wherein all the teams strived for better performance in a tough competition.
Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Jai Ram Thakur; Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Suresh Bardhwaj; K. Girja Shankar, Senior Consultant MHRD, GoI were present at the event.
