Jammu, December 22: The Jammu and Kashmir Government accorded sanction to creation of a post of Commissioner Food Security and supporting staff at a cabinet meeting in Jammu on Friday in a landmark decision to improve the conditions of food security in the State.
The cabinet met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and took this decision in one voice.
The post of Commissioner Food Security has been created for “ proper implementation of the Food Security Act of 2006 and 2011,” according to a tweet of Mehbooba Mufti .
“ We will ensure that safe and wholesome food is always available to everyone in the state,” she tweeted.
