Jammu and Kashmir Government Saturday announced release of Rs 10,000 in cash from the November 2016 salary for its non-gazetted and class IV employees by November 24.
This was announced in an order of the Finance Ministry, duly signed by Finance Secretary Navin Choudhary this evening.
All the state government non-gazetted and Class IV employees are entitled to this benefit unless they opt for salary in their account, as usual, by November 22. In not making an option, it would be presumed that this part (Rs. 10,000) of the salary would have to be paid out in cash, the order said.
This decision has been taken due to the cash crunch in the market due to demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 8.
