After meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has made up her mind to effect much awaited ministerial reshuffle in the coalition government, according to sources.
She apprised Prime Minister of the bad name that the government was getting due to alleged charges of corruption of some of the BJP ministers about whom the local media had written extensively post demonetization .
Sources disclosed that the performance of the ministers too would be taken into account . Some of the ministers had become a non-performing liabilities.
Against this backdrop, the return of Altaf Bukhari, a vibrant MLA from Amira Kadal , Srinagar and former Public Works Minister , to the ministry is considered certainty. BJP will give its own list of the faces that it wishes to change.
Ram Madhav, BJP General Secretary is likely to make recommendations after consulting Amit Shah.
It may be recalled here that during his two-day visit of Jammu early this month R S S chief Mohan Bhagwat had also expressed his unhappiness with the performance of the BJP ministers, who , according to him, had surrendered their commitment and ideology for the sake of power.
The reshuffle is likely to take place by mid-December , the sources said
