J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) today organized a Pre-Event Press Conference at TRC Jammu ahead of “NAVREH 2018”: Kashmiri Pandit Food Festival 2018 in Jammu City to give a novel experience of Kashmiri traditional cuisine to Jammuites and to tourists.
Vice Chairman JKTDC, Rafi Ahmed Mir while addressing media said that JKTDC is keen to promote culture and regional diversity of Jammu and Kashmir within the state as well as outside the State.
Managing Director JKTDC, Sarmad Hafeez briefed the media about the two day festival which is being organized by JKTDC to bring the taste of Kashmiri Pandit cuisine and culture to Jammu. The Festival will start on 16th march and will conclude on 17th March, 2018.
On the occasion, MD JKTDC said that it has been an endeavor of the corporation to promote and present the culture and cuisines of the state to people of other regions, states. “We are organizing the “NAVREH 2018” after a long span of 28 years to promote this festival and to introduce the local populace of Jammu region to this cuisine and culture.
He said that the Corporation is keen to promote tourism industry in the state by conducting ethnic food festivals from time to time. The essence of conducting these food festivals is to attract all especially young generation to know about our cultural ethos as well as richness in variety of cuisine in J&K State. The management also desired to organize a Kashmiri Pandit Food Festival at Srinagar on the occasion of Mata KHeer Bhawani Mela in the May-June and Ladakhi Food Festival also.
