Minister for Housing and Urban development Sat Sharma today gave away cash prizes to the winners of the wall painting competition organised by   Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).

 The civic body had organised the painting competition in the month of April, 2018 on both sides of the walls near Hotel Asia, Jammu, wherein various artists and children from different schools participated.

 The artists painted the walls on different themes and gave colours to their imagination. The theme of wall painting competition was aimed at Swachh Bharat Mission, Smart City, Nature and Environment, Social message, Art, Culture and Heritage of City of Temples.

After adjudging the paintings by a penal of judges, two participants namely Muzzafar Ahmed Bhat and Dimple Kumar were declared as winners, Ramesh Chander Mahajan was declared as 1St runner up and Rahul Shidra and Diksha Andotra were declared as 2nd runner up.  Member Legislative Assembly Jammu East Rajesh Gupta was also present on the occasion.

 To honour the artists as well as participants, the prize distribution function was organized at wall painting site and   Minister for Housing and Urban Development Sat Paul Sharma gave away the  cash prize  of    Rs. 15,000  to the winners ,  Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 7,000 to   2nd and 3rd runner ups.

Besides, Rs. 500 and a certificate of participation, was also given to every participant as consolation prize.

 In his address, the Minister appreciated JMC for organizing wall painting competition and also congratulated the artists and school children for participating in the competition. He said that the aim of organizing such wall painting competition is to enhance the beauty of City of Temples.

“This endeavor is a part of Swachh Bharat Mission an initiative taken by   Prime Minister of India. It is responsibility of every citizen as well as Govt. functionary to put his valuable efforts for achieving the goal of Swachh Bharat Mission: Sat asserted. He further asked JMC to organize more such types of events/wall painting competitions to aware the general masses about the importance of Swachh Bharat Mission and also to beautify the city.

The Minister also thanked J&K Bank for its tremendous contribution as a part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards enhancement of beauty of city of Temples.
