Jammu, March 1:
Governor N N Vohra who also is Chancellor of Kashmir University has given no assurance to Kashmir University Vice Chancellor Khursheed Iqbal Andrabi to continue , according to highly placed sources in the government.
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is also pro-chancellor of the University has been apprised of this development .
The search committee has been asked to finalise the name of successor Khursheed and he will have to cease sitting on VC’s chair after his successor is named .
No interim arrangement is in the offing as the Chancellor, it is learnt , wanted to make a final choice for the next five years on the basis of the recommendations of the search committee. The interim arrangement often results in uncertainty and the Chancellor is keen to avoid any uncertainty.
