To provide state-of-the-art educational facilities for the medical aspirants of the Kashmir Valley and to secure a better future for them, the Kashmir Super 30 (Medical) project has been conceptualised by the Army which is a full time residential programme providing coaching and guidance to them for a period of twelve months for entrance examinations of various Medical Colleges spread across India.
The programme is being executed by a Kanpur based NGO, National Integrity & Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) which will provide the faculty members for academics and the Army would oversee the overall administration, logistics and infrastructure with requisite annual funding from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL).
The prestigious centre which is located at Srinagar was inaugurated on 12 June 2018 by the Chinar Corps Commander Lt Gen AK Bhatt in the presence of selected students, proud parents and representatives of NIEDO and HPCL among others. The Chinar Corps Cdr complimented the selected students and urged them to continue their hard work. He said “I will be very happy to see you all joining the medical colleges across India next year”.
Post signing of the Memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Headquarters Chinar Corps on 15 Mar 2018, NIEDO carried out an exhaustive selection process across Jammu & Kashmir by conducting written examination for over 1400 students which was followed by screening tests and interviews of the 170 shortlisted students. Finally, only 30 bright, talented and aspiring students have been selected for training for a period of 12 months.
Such projects not only provide a platform for the talented students of J&K to shine and be role models but they also reinvigorate the process of peace, progress and stability in the state.
