Kashmiri human rights activist Khurram Parvez, lodged in Joint Interrogation Centre, Miransahib, Jammu set free on Wednesday in compliance with the High Court orders.
Parvez was arrested on September 16 and was booked under the Public Safety Act (PSA).
The Jammu and Kashmir High Court on Friday had termed his detention “ illegal” and ordered his immediate release.
Parvez was arrested just a day after he was barred from boarding a flight and leaving for Geneva where he was scheduled to attend a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council.
