Srinagar-Muzaffrabad road was closed for vehicular traffic in north Kashmir’s Uri on Friday morning after it was hit by the landslides.
The stretch has been blocked at 72 milestones and over hundred vehicles are stranded. “Our men and machinery are on job and highway will be thrown open shortly,” said a BRO official
Locals said that it is not for the first time that the highway was closed. “It has happened in past as well and we want a permanent solution to the problem,” said a local Toshi Zuffer.
The important highway is closed since 6 in the morning.
