A day after the Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly adopted a unanimous resolution  seeking the  return of Kashmiri Pandit migrants to the Valley, the legislative council followed the suit.

The Upper House passed the resolution on the similar lines. . The resolution was moved by the ;leader of the House and  Education Minister  Naeem Akhtar, who said “ Kashmiris cannot think of Kashmir without Kashmiri Pandits.”

 

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that Kashmiri Pandits are a part and parcel of the Kashmir’s unique composite culture and every effort would be made to ensure their return with dignity to their roots.

 

He said Kashmir is incomplete without Pandits adding that Kashmir’s Composite culture and communal harmony is known worldwide.

 

The House unanimously passed the resolution with voice vote.
