New Delhi, December 19

National Investigating  Agency has  named Pakistan based  terror  group  Jaish-e-Mohammad   chief Masood Azhar and three others in the terror attack  at  Pathankot  air base in January this year..

The NIA has reached this conclusion after a nearly one year-long investigation  into the terror attack in the opening days of this year , which followed  a little over a week  after Prime Minister  Narendra Modi made a sudden air dash to Lahore to meet and congratulate his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif on December 25, last year.

It is not known that how Pakistan would respond to the evidence collected by  NIA in this case.

It may be mentioned that NIA  is also  investigating the two other terror attacks at the Uri army unit on September 18 and  Nagrota on November 29 in Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistani establishment patronizes Masood Azhar. ISI had played a crucial role in securing his release by getting an Indian airliner IC 814 hijacked  when the aircraft was on its way to Delhi from Kathmandu in December 1999.  The plane was parked in Kandahar, the capital of Taliban , which was ruling Afghanistan  that time .

All Indian pleas to  Pakistan to take action against Hafiz  Saeed of  Jamait-ud-Dawa (  a front for Lashkar-e- Toiba ) and Masood Azhar for their terror activities in India have fallen on deaf ears .  Pakistan has repeatedly declined to accept the evidence collected by  India .
