Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has declined to meet two BJP ministers Choudhary Lal Singh and Chander Prakash Ganga on the issue of Kathua rape and murder case.
The two ministers , according to sources, have been conveyed that the Chief Minister has “no time” o meet them if they want to ask for CBI inquiry into the alleged rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl Asifa in Hiranagar village of Kathua district in January .
She is deeply annoyed with them for having sided with the agitators who were raising questions about the credibility of investigations of the State police. She felt it was a direct attack on her as the state police functions under her for she is the Home Minister as well.
Ysterday, she had made two of her PDP colleagues and ministers Altaf Bukhari and Naeem Akhtar to ive party’s mind to the BJP ministers, ruling out CBI inquiry into the Kathua rape and murder case. Both Altaf and Naeem castigated the BJP ministers, of course, without naming them , for politicizing and communalizing the rape and murder of a young girl.
The BJP ministers who had promised CBI inquiry into the case on Thursday were not available for their comments.
